There are several features that I want in my mind mapping workflow that others may or may not need, including: Unlike cloud apps, sharing and collaborating from the iPad is much more difficult.
Safari makes it a bit more difficult to use cloud apps and plug-ins. Everything must be done with a tapping interface, which some (but not all) Windows and Macintosh mind mappers can do already. One is the limited on-screen keyboard, with no function, command and control keys and no keyboard shortcuts. There are challenges to bringing a mind mapping application to the iPad, too. Some of the mind mapping programs take good advantage of the iPad camera, the Camera Roll (for storing photos), Dropbox integration, and email. The touch interface also works well for creating and arranging text cells / nodes and small graphics. Mobility and a great, high-resolution graphical interface are obvious.
There are many advantages to creating mind maps on the iPad. Lately I’ve I’ve tried a variety of mind mapping programs on my iPad, and have enjoyed using them.
